Education Adult Services
Adult education represents a unique frontier where traditional teaching methods often fall short. Unlike children who absorb information like sponges, adult learners bring complex backgrounds, established thought patterns, and urgent real-world needs. This is where tutors emerge as catalysts of transformation, bridging gaps that conventional classroom settings cannot address. At CCTXP, we need not onlyvolunteer tutors, but classroom assistants and material preparers to facilitate the learning process.
The relationship between our volunteers and adult students transcends simple knowledge transfer. It becomes a partnership in rebuilding identity, where language proficiency and cultural integration intertwine to create entirely new possibilities for success.

Tutors
Volunteer tutors are the backbone of the program. All a tutor needs is a compassionate heart, flexibility, patience and a willingness to learn from students about other cultures — no licensing or teaching experience necessary.
Tutors can commit to help on a weekly basis as their schedule allows and will receive Education-specific training before beginning. Tutors will not be on their own during classes, but will be assisting Education staff during sessions.
Education staff are always available to help however needed, find materials for the class lesson and be a support to the volunteer.

Students
Students who are wanting to learn the English language and commit to the classes have the opportunity to attend a class one to three times a week.
Each class is 1 1/2 hours each session.
It is required that the student comes to at least one class a week. Classes will be held year round with any changes to the schedule being communicated to students.
